CHA-PENS won IEMC as RUNNER UP 2012

EEPIS-Online, After struggle for about 3 months, finally EEPIS electric car team ,ChaPENS, can compete in the circuit Indonesia Marathon Energy Challenge (IEMC) 2012. On the last day of this prestigious competition, for the category of urban electric car EEPIS scored glorious achievements.

After successfully lead the klasemen of the first race, on the second day ChaPENS apparently able to improve the performance. Unfortunately, EEPIS only use 3 chances out of 5 opportunities afforded in the race. This happen because the number of technical constraints on the team Cha PENS, ranging from tires, wiper until burning up battery.

In the last race, Cha PENS got a score of 42.25 km / kwh. However, the value is apparently not able to compete with the performance of Nusa Kencana Jakarta State Polytechnic as they managed to record the value of 45.2 km / kwh. It was a thin figure. Finally, Cha PENS had to be satisfied to stay as the runner-up of this year.

"It s our fault too, the strategy that we have made so that we do not have time to less than satisfactory results," said Aditya Rahman as team manager of Cha PENS.

The peak of the Closing Ceremony held in different place from the race. In the closing of IEMC 2012 , it performed at The Robotics ITS. The closure itself begins at 19:00 pm, was delayed half an hour because the participants haven t come yet. The event was visited by Ir. Tri Rismaharini, M.T. as Mayor of Surabaya, Prof. Dr. Ir. Triyogi Yuwono, DEA. as rector of ITS, as well as representatives from the Department of Education Nasional.

At the peak of the event, an award of trophy, medal and cash awarded to the winners. Awards were given to winners of each category, including the prototype, there are three categories, namely petrol, diesel, electricity, whereas the urban concept category are gasoline, diesel, and electricity. Of six categories contested EEPIS just follow the race with the Urban Concept category of electricity.

With the runner up position, the team managed to bring ChaPENS one 
trophy, 1 medal and cash amounting to 5 million. Emotive and very proud
looks of the faces of the team. It signifies what they stand for and try
for it, does not mean zero. "We are very proud, although only able to
reach runner-up position, we were still happy. After following this
there will probably be an evaluation, for the best in the years that
followed, just have to be a winner next year!" Adit exclaimed, when met
