The Department of Creative Multimedia Technology (DTMK) of the Electronic Engineering Polytechnic Institute of Surabaya (PENS) was inaugurated in 2012. This department oversees 3 (three) Study Programs (Prodi), namely D3 Multimedia Broadcasting (MMB), D4 Game Technology (GT) and D4 Multimedia Engineering Technology (TRM). These three study programs are engaged in film, video, music, photography, television, radio, and games.
DTMK aims to become a center of excellence for multimedia technology education in developing creative industries. To achieve this, this Department produces creative people with the ability to master multimedia technology, and play an active role in the development of creative industries in the multimedia field.
DTMK also plays a role in strengthening human resources, in which it is in charge of improving the teaching load according to standards, as well as increasing research and community service. Not only that but also as facilities and infrastructure for students.

Broadcasting Studio Laboratory is equipped with equipment that supports the production process of a program for both television and radio media. With existing broadcasting equipment, it is able to provide insight to students in understanding flow work in the world of television and radio. In addition, the Broadcasting Studio Laboratory has also developed several researches in the field of broadcasting. Broadcasting Studio Laboratory is actively used for TV Studio and Radio Studio lectures.

Game Designer
The Game Designer Course contains a collection of courses covering game design, namely Game Mechanics, Game Production, Interactive Narrative, Game Review and Analysis, Storyboards, Interaction Tools, Data Analysis for Games and Human-Computer Interaction.
Learning Characteristics
Students will learn to design game concepts and create good Game Design Documents, analyze and design game levels and missions for each level, design game stories and narratives and design game mechanics taking into account player abilities and game difficulty levels.
Visual Effects Designer
Game Art Course contains a collection of courses covering Basic Drawing, Basic Visual Expression, Computer Graphics, UX Design, Character Design for Games and 3D Design for Games.
Learning Characteristics
Students will learn to design the style and feel of art in play; designing game characters using digital and non-digital devices; designing 2D/3D models for game characters or objects, textures on models, and model movements using applications; designing the appearance of the world or environment in the game; designing a display that makes it easier for players to understand the game and play it; and provide technical solutions for the team in the process of creating visual game effects.
Game Programmers
Game Programmer contains a collection of courses covering Basic Programming, OOP Programming, Design Patterns, Data Structures, Multiplayer Games, Network Programming and Artificial Intelligence in Games.
Learning Characteristics
Students will learn to design game programs with artificial intelligence; apply the principles of physics to create a realistic game reality; apply mathematical principles to create game special effects; designing game engines, designing multiplayer games; and designing in-game audio and sound effects and translating game assets from one language to another.
Support Games
Game Support contains a collection of courses that include Game Journalist, Game Publisher, Design Methodology, Combinatorial Theory, Introduction to Psychology and Game Technology Trends.
Learning Characteristics
Students will learn to convey information through media that discusses the game industry from both a consumer and producer point of view, publish and promote games and design game proposals with design methodologies.
